Sparxsys is committed to maintaining your privacy and the confidentiality of your data. This policy describes how we handle data in relation to our Atlassian Marketplace apps: Stay on Top for Jira, QR Code for Jira, and Sprint Runner for Jira.

1. Our Apps and How They Handle Data

Stay on Top for Jira

Stay on Top enhances the Jira issue view by displaying useful contextual information like last status, component lead email etc. The current version only reads issue data within the Jira interface to present it in a more user-friendly format.

  • Future Features: Upcoming versions may include administrative tools and custom reporting capabilities. Even then, all data access will remain within the Atlassian ecosystem, with no customer data stored or transmitted externally.

SprintRunner for Jira

SprintRunner is designed to help SCRUM Masters and board admins automate sprint operations.

  • It enables automated start and stop of sprints based on schedules.
  • Allows configuration of post-sprint actions such as moving incomplete issues to the backlog, next sprint or a new sprint
  • All actions are configured and executed within the Jira instance; no data is extracted or retained by Sparxsys.

QR Code for Jira

This lightweight app generates a QR code for any Jira issue, allowing quick access or sharing.

  • Users can customise the QR code size.
  • The QR code is rendered dynamically based on the issue URL.
  • No information is stored, logged, or shared; the QR is generated on-the-fly within the Jira UI.

2. Data Collection and Storage

  • We do not collect or store any personal data, project data, or metadata from users.
  • All processing occurs within your Jira environment, utilising only the data necessary for display or execution.
  • Jira Fore Storage API is used in some apps to store configurations within Jira, no data is stored on external servers, and third-party databases are not used.

3. Permissions and Access Scope

Our apps request only minimal and necessary permissions as required by Atlassian’s Forge:

  • Apps operate strictly within the boundaries of your Jira instance.
  • We do not export, transmit, or share any information externally.
  • All permissions are disclosed on the app installation page and are limited to the functions described above.

4. Use of Third Parties

  • Sparxsys apps do not use any third-party services or subprocessors for data processing.
  • No analytics, trackers, or advertising tools are embedded in the apps.

5. Security Practices

Even without data storage, we take security seriously:

  • All apps are developed following Atlassian’s Cloud Security guidelines.
  • Regular internal audits and security testing are performed.
  • No user data is cached, logged, or stored beyond the active session.

6. User Rights and Contact

As our apps don’t store personal data, rights like data access, correction, or deletion are not applicable. However, we uphold your privacy rights under laws like the GDPR.

7. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect:

  • New features or apps
  • Legal or regulatory changes
  • Improvements in security or transparency

All changes will be posted on our website and included in future app documentation.
